The OFW father of the child who died in the NAIA Terminal 1 accident has this to say.
NAIA TERMINAL 1 ACCIDENT – Danmark Masongsong, the father of the killed child, says he can’t forgive the SUV driver.
One of the victims of the accident that occurred at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 was a little girl who was there for her OFW father, who was supposed to return to the Czech Republic.
However, the accident at NAIA happened. It took her life and the life of another man aged 29 years old. Danmark Masongsong, an overseas Filipino worker, said that he was about to return to the Czech Republic to work as a machine operator when the tragedy occurred.
His wife was among those who got injured, and it was just recently that his wife learned about their daughter’s death.
In an interview, Masongsong expressed that, for now, he couldn’t forgive the driver behind the wheel who caused the fatal crash. What he desires is justice for his daughter’s death.
“Sa ngayon po, hindi ko po mapapatawad dahil buhay po ang kinuha kaya ang gusto po namin, mabulok sa kulungan para mabigyan ng hustisya ang anak ko,” he said.
According to him, what he did was unforgivable. A life was lost. He is alive, and his daughter is not. He added, “Walang kapatawaran ang ginawa mo sa aking asawa lalo na sa aking anak na nawalan ng buhay. Ikaw, nakakakain ka pa, ang anak ko wala na… kaya ‘yung kasalanan mo, walang kapatawaran ‘yan, tandaan mo ‘yan. Korte na lang ang bahala sa’yo.”
The driver is going to face multiple charges, such as reckless imprudence resulting in two counts of homicide, multiple injuries, and damage to property. He was also tested for alcohol and drugs, and the result turned out negative.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has also suspended for 90 days the driver’s license of the driver, and a show cause order was also issued against the registered owner of the vehicle and the driver.
