Vice Ganda campaigns for Bam Aquino
Senatorial candidate Bam Aquino received support from Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda in his senatorial candidacy.
Aquino, among the prominent political figures in the Philippines, is running as an independent candidate. He has served as a senator from 2013 to 2019. For several years, he took a break from politics, and in 2022, he became the campaign manager of the tandem of former Vice President Leni Robredo and former Senator Kiko Pangilina, who ran for president and vice president, respectively.
This year, Aquino returns to the political arena. He aspires to be a senator again and several celebrities showed support for him, such as Kapamilya A-list actresses Anne Curtis and Janine Gutierrez.
Just recently, Vice Ganda shared a video on his Facebook page with 19 million followers. It was a campaign video for Bam Aquino. Vice and his fellow It’s Showtime hosts Darren Espanto and Ogie Alcasid, and other people, sang along with the tune “Bam Bam Bidam Bam.”
Then, in the end of the video, Vice said, “Ibalik sa senado ang matino at matalino. Bam Aquino, number 5 sa balota.” In the caption of his post, the Kapamilya comedian-host wrote, “Karapat dapat makabalik sa Senado.”
This post that Vice shared garnered polarizing comments. A netizen from Hong Kong said that she already finished voting and Bam Aquino was one of the senators she voted for. However, some netizens directly stated that they would not vote for the senatorial candidate.
Meanwhile, aside from Bam Aquino, Vice Ganda is also endorsing the senatorial candidacy of independent candidate Kiko Pangilinan. The campaign video that the Kapamilya comedian-host showed that he appeared to be picking among the candidate profiles and the one that only impressed her was the profile of Pangilinan. Vice is also endorsing the Angkasangga Party-list.
