Malacañang Calls on Sara Duterte To “Level Up” Arguments

Press Officer of Malacañang Speaks on VP Sara Duterte after “Politicking” Claim vs. Government

MALACAÑANG – The Palace called on Vice President Sara Duterte to level up her arguments by backing it with data and reasons.

One of the senatorial bets of the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago endorsed by Pres. Bongbong Marcos is Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar, the daughter of business giant Manny Villar and outgoing Senator Cynthia Villar. The couple has two (2) brothers – Sen. Mark Villar and businessman Manuel Paolo Villar.

Thus, countless people were surprised when Malacañang announced that Pres. Bongbong Marcos will order the investigation of the PrimeWater owned by the Villar family. It came after there were several complaints of lack of sufficient water supply in some areas in the country.

Despite the probe order, Alyansa clarified that Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar remains part of the team and it supports the investigation of the PrimeWater. According to the grand alliance’s campaign manager, Toby Tiangco, the Alyansa respects Villar’s track record in public service.

The grand alliance’s campaign manager stressed that clean and reliable water is a necessity of the Filipinos and the issue must be treated “fairly with urgency”. However, amid the issue, based on a report on Inquirer, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte tagged the PrimeWater investigation as allegedly “mere politicking”.

Aside from Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ Alyansa, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is also endorsing Camille Villar’s senatorial bid. The younger Villar attempts to switch positions with her mother, Sen. Cynthia Villar, who is running for Las Piñas representative in the May 2025 Elections.

Recently, Malacañang reacted to the remarks of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte over the investigation into the Villar-owned PrimeWater. Based on a report on Inquirer, Palace press officer Atty. Claire Castro called on the Vice President to “level up” her arguments.

“Ang nais lang po muna sana natin kung anong pakikipag argumento o pakikipag diskusyon ng ating bise presidente, sana po ay i-level up natin, rason sa reason, datos sa datos. Huwag gamitan ng masasamang salita o pagmumura,” the Malacañang press officer said.

According to Castro, Duterte has allegedly repeatedly used politicking to get away from addressing several concerns including the alleged misuse of confidential funds. The Malacañang press officer also noted that the PrimeWater thrived despite the complaints of its customers.

“Hindi po ito bago kaya po nakakapagtaka kung bakit hindi ito nasolusyunan sa nakaraang administrasyon,” she said.

As she endorses Camille Villar, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte said that her senatorial bets share a common vision.
