Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Defends Senatorial Bets in May 2025 Elections
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President claimed that Senator Imee Marcos, Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar, and the PDP Laban bets share a common vision of a “peaceful and prosperous Philippines”.
The controversial arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte has caused a huge division in the Philippines. The supporters of the Dutertes and the Marcoses that were united by the BBM-Sara tandem in 2022 were left confused by the recent turn of events.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos is faced with “betrayal” accusations over Duterte’s arrest but Malacañang defended that the government only did its job. Amid the bashing against her brother, Sen. Imee Marcos seemingly sided with the Dutertes as she cannot accept what was done against the former President.
Sen. Imee Marcos left the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago team led by Pres. Bongbong Marcos. According to her, the recent actions of the government do not match her ideals and principles.

Sen. Imee Marcos believes that there seems to be no due process in the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. She has led three (3) hearings of the Senate Foreign Relations committee over the former President’s controversial arrest.

Recently, countless people reacted but not surprised by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte endorsing Sen. Imee Marcos in her reelection bid. Their “ITIM” campaign ad gained different reactions from the netizens online.

Aside from Sen. Imee Marcos, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also endorses Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar and the PDP Laban bets in the 2025 Midterm Polls. Based on a report on Manila Bulletin, the Vice President recently defended her decision regarding her senatorial bets.
“The #Duter10 senatorial candidates, running under former President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s PDP Laban, together with reelectionist Senator Imee Marcos and Representative Camille Villar, are united by a common vision—a peaceful and prosperous Philippines,” the Vice President said.
According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, their vision for a peaceful and prosperous Philippines is “solid enough to break through the walls of the existing political division in the country”. Previously, Sen. Imee Marcos denied that VP Sara’s endorsement is a reward to her.
