After many years of not seeing his son, James Yap posts a greeting for Bimby.
PBA legend James Yap greets Bimby in an Instagram post as his son with former wife Kris Aquino turns 18 years old.
Bimby Aquino was surrounded by his family and friends on his 18th birthday. The youngest of Kris Aquino officially turned 18 on Saturday, April 19. He celebrated it in an intimate get-together with the people who love him, including his mother and brother Josh.
Kris’ family friend RB Chanco reflected on his special day and recalled what her mother said before that remained vivid in her. Accordingly, Kris has said before that Bimby’s 18th birthday might be her last, but she believed otherwise because as long as he is with her, she will always have a reason to keep going.
On his birthday, among those who also greeted him was his father, James Yap. He posted an old photo of them together with a short caption that said, “Happy 18th Birthday Bimb. I love you!”
For many years, they have not seen each other, and in their family, Bimby’s dedication to stepping up as the man of the house and taking care of Kris was admired by many.
Last year, the PBA legend said that he had not seen his son for 10 years. To recall, Aquino and Yap had a civil wedding in 2005 and welcomed Bimby two years later in 2007. They separated in 2010, and two years later, their marriage was annulled in 2012.
Aquino is currently battling nine autoimmune diseases, namely, Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria, Autoimmune Thyroiditis, Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (EGPA), Lupus, Scleroderma, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Polymyositis, and Mixed Connective Tissue disease. She’s been fighting for years for her sons, Josh and Bimby.
