Devotee Carrying Cross Delivers Kick After Being Mocked During Penitence

Devotee Carrying Cross Kicks Man Who Mocked Him During Penitence

RELIGIOUS PENITENCE – A male devotee carrying a wooden cross suddenly kicked another man who decided to play a prank on him.

Holy Week penitence is a special act of sacrifice and reflection that many Christians, especially Catholics, do during Holy Week, which is the week before Easter. It’s a way to remember the suffering and death of Jesus Christ.

Some carry heavy wooden crosses, walk barefoot in the heat, or even whip their backs as a form of sacrifice. Others join long processions, pray the rosary, or attend church services. These acts are often part of a personal promise or “panata” made to God, sometimes to ask for forgiveness, give thanks, or fulfill a prayer they believe was answered.

Recently, Ralph Lawrence Dagman Luczon, a Facebook user, shared a video of a an quietly walking while carrying a large cross as part of his Holy Week devotion. The post immediately garnered various reactions from the neitzens.

In the video, the man can be seen performing a religious penitence by carrying a wooden cross. However, things took a turn when another man jumped onto the back end of the cross, adding weight and disrupting the penitent’s solemn act.

Clearly feeling the added load, the man carrying the cross stopped, put it down, and then delivered a strong kick to the prankster. The person who got kicked appeared surprised but did not continue to fight back, despite briefly showing signs of reacting.

After the quick confrontation, the man calmly picked up the cross again and resumed his walk, continuing his act of faith and sacrifice.

Some viewers found it humorous, while others felt disappointed that such disrespect happened during a sacred tradition. Many pointed out that those taking part in religious acts should be respected, especially during Holy Week when people express their faith through personal sacrifices.
