Security Guard in Cebu Arrested After Robbing Hotel Staff

A security guard was arrested after robbing a hotel employee and trying to escape from the police in Cebu City.

A security guard is a person who is hired to protect people, property, or places. Their main job is to keep things safe and make sure nothing bad happens, like theft, vandalism, or other problems.

Security guards might stand at entrances, walk around the area, check bags, watch security cameras, and report anything suspicious. Some guards are armed, while others are not, depending on the place and the rules.

Recently, a security guard ended up in jail after a brief chase with the police authorities in Barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City after committing robbery.

According to the Abellana Police Station, officers received a report that a front desk officer at a hotel had been held up by their own security guard. The suspect allegedly threatened the employee and took valuables before attempting to flee the scene.

Instead of surrendering, the suspect ran away when he saw the police arrive. Officers chased him through the streets until they caught up with him along Osmeña Boulevard. But rather than giving up, the suspect fought back and even tried to stab the arresting officers.

One of the policemen fired his gun to stop the suspect. However, the bullet ricocheted and accidentally hit another officer in the arm. Both the injured officer and the suspect were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities are now investigating the incident to fully understand the crime. They are also looking into the suspect’s background and whether there were any earlier signs of unusual behavior while on duty.
