Man Arrested After Driving His Motorcycle Straight Into Church Church in Taal, Batangas 

A man was arrested after causing a disturbance by driving his motorcycle straight a church in Taal, Batangas. 

In the CCTV footage, the man drove his motorcycle straight into the Taal Basilica and parked it right in front of the altar on Tuesday morning (April 8, 2025). He then sat on the priest’s chair, placed his feet up, and started clapping his hands as if mocking the sacred space. 

The police quickly responded after the church reported the incident. According to Police Captain Rommel Magno, Officer-in-Charge of the Taal Municipal Police Station, the man was taken into custody shortly after.

He was acting strangely, and people around him, including his girlfriend, were very concerned. His girlfriend said he wasn’t usually like that. She even shared that he had recently done things he never used to, like suddenly giving blessings to her father. 

While inside the police station, the man continued to behave oddly. He challenged other detainees to a fight and called them weak. Police say it looked like he was going through something serious, possibly depression. 

“After the incident, dinala sa station, ‘yung mga tao sa simbahan nandoon din. Iba ‘yung ugali nung tao. ‘Yung girlfriend umiiyak, ang sabi niya ‘Hindi naman ganiyan ‘yan, nag-bless sa tatay ko na hindi naman niya dati ginagawa,” said Magno. 

His parents said he doesn’t smoke or drink and has no known vices. Priests in the area also expressed concern over the incident, and church leaders want to make sure this kind of disrespect doesn’t happen again. 

“Sabi ng magulang, eh wala namang bisyo ‘yan, hindi naninigarilyo at hindi umiinom ng alak. Sabi ng mga pari nakita na po ng mga obispo, siyempre po para hindi na pamaresan, at hindi na maulit, tuturuan ng leksyon. Hindi po gagawin ng normal na tao ‘yun,” Magno added. 

They believe the man needs to learn a lesson, as such actions are far from normal behavior. 

Authorities are now working to determine if the man has a mental health condition. For now, the investigation is ongoing as the police continue to investigate the case.
