Lady Netizen Flexes Gradual Growth of Her Humble Rice Business 

ENTREPRENEUR – A lady netizen has shared the growth of her small rice business, “matutupad yan magtiwala lang.” 

Recently, Charlene Castillo, a Facebook user, shared how her small rice-selling business slowly grew has touched many online. The post quickly garnered various reactions from the internet users.  

Charlene started by selling rice per kilo in her small neighborhood store. At first, she could only afford to buy one sack at a time. But in March, her orders doubled, and she got the idea to offer one sack on credit to a trusted buyer. Seeing that it worked, she decided to try lending rice to her neighbors as well.

Soon after, she ordered four sacks and sold all of them. Encouraged by this, she had another batch delivered, this time six sacks. She now sells rice both per kilo and per sack. Her cash price per sack is P1,100, but for those who buy on credit, she charges P1,250 with a one-month term. 

Some customers even pay earlier and come back for more. Before, her rice capital was part of her overall store funds, but now she has a separate budget just for the rice business. She shared that she used P8,100, saved from her store earnings in January, to invest in rice because she wanted her money to grow rather than just sit unused. 

Charlene hopes her growing sideline will someday become a full rice supply business. For now, she continues to work hard and manage her sales.

Share ko lang eto aking bigas, nagtitinda na talaga ako nito sa aking munting tindahan per kilo nga lang dahil paisa isa sako lng kung akoy bumili. Eh nito march nagdoble yun na order ko kaya naisipan ko ipautang un isang sako kaya inalok ko dun sa alam ko marunong magbayad. Tapos bigla ko naisipan na magpautang ng bigas dito lang naman sa mga kapitbhay ko kaya nagpadilver ulit ako ng 4 na sako tapos naubos ko ulit yun at ngaun nga nagpadeliver ulit tayo ng 6 na sako na. Nagbebenta din ako per sako 1100 ang benta ko jan. Kapag utang naman 1250 for 1 month yun pero yun iba wala pa namang 1 month nagbabayad na pagkabayad kuha ulit. Dati yun puhunan ko sa bigas kasama na dito sa aking tindahan dahil paisa isa nga lang sako un binibili ko pero ngaun nakabukod na un puhunan ko sa bigas yun naipon ko sa aking munting tindahan nun month ng janauary ay ginamit ko muna dito sa aking bigas para naman kumita kesa nakatabi. 8100 un sinimulan ko puhunan dito at galing din sa ating munting tindahan.
