Tom Rodriguez has a new project with Bea Alonzo
Kapuso actor Tom Rodriguez revealed his experience working with A-list actress Bea Alonzo in the upcoming series Whispers From Heaven.
Tom is one of the lead cast members of the upcoming Kapuso series, which served as the teleserye comeback of Bea.
In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Tom shared that he enjoyed shooting for the new series. This is his second time working with Bea.
They first worked together in an episode of the Kapuso drama anthology Magpakailanman. Tom Rodriguez said that it was easy working with Bea Alonzo.
“Sobra. Kung ano yung na-experience ko sa Magpakailanman, parang similar. Parang one taping day lang kami dun. Pero ito, same din. She’s very easy to work with,” the Kapuso actor said.
Tom also shared that he was a bit surprised by the fact that he would be working with Bea, whom he admires.
“Kaya nagulat ako, kasi siyempre sino ba ang hindi fan ng isang Bea Alonzo? So, kailangan in the morning… I’m thankful for it, kailangan ko siyang isantabi,” he said.
The actor also shared that he thought that he would not have an easy time doing this project, but what happened was contrary to what he initially thought.
“Akala ko magiging mahirap. Pero on the set, she’s not ano, kahit ang laki niyang artista, wala siyang ganung ere. So, she really makes everyone feel comfortable around with,” Tom said.
He was also asked about the hot issue involving Bea and her boyfriend, Puregold CEO Vincent Co, if they ever talked about this on the set. “Wala akong alam sa ganun. Kasi pag work, work naman,” Tom safely said.
Meanwhile, the actor expressed gratitude that people started to acknowledge his acting skills through the movie Unmarry. He received Best Supporting Actor at the Metro Manila Film Festival 2025, followed by a nomination at the Houston World Fest in Texas, USA.
He shared that he learned about the nomination late. It was his wife who told him that Atty. Joji Alonso posted something about this.
