Man Who Picked Up Woman in City Proper Attacked by Her Alleged Husband and His Companions
A man who picked up a prostitute woman in Iloilo was attacked by her alleged husband and his companions.
Authorities are currently searching for a man who allegedly jumped into the Iloilo River early this morning after being beaten and reportedly stabbed by several individuals in the City Proper. The altercation stemmed from a dispute involving commercial sex workers.
The man, identified as “Archie,” a 38-year-old ice cream vendor, was drinking with his younger brother Darwin and two others in Barangay Sinikway, Lapuz. Later that night, they decided to engage with prostitues in the downtown area.
According to Darwin, while they were negotiating with the women, a group of men suddenly approached and attacked them. The confrontation reportedly started over disagreements about pricing and misunderstandings between the parties. Before the violence erupted, there was already tension and a heated exchange.
“Nabun-an akon magulang bangud sa mga p*k-p*k… Hindi namin alam na ang mga p*k-p*k ay may mga asawa pala, edi pinagtulungan kami, edi nagka-engkwentro kami,” Darwin said.
Darwin believes that the suspects were either the husbands or boyfriends of the commercial sex workers. During the incident, Archie was hit on the head and later placed in a tricycle.
However, as they neared a bridge, he suddenly ran towards the river and jumped in, apparently to wash off his injuries. Since then, he has not been seen, and his location remain unknown.
The incident has already been reported to the police, who are conducting an investigation. Authorities are also searching the river in hopes of locating Archie. Law enforcement is urging witnesses to come forward to help clarify the details.
