On Saturday, March 27, 202, according to the Quezon City Police District and the District Anti-Carnapping Unit, a 41-year-old man and his 52-year-old live-in partner had just checked into the hotel when they took off with a motorcycle belonging to a hotel staff member.

The victim, who works at the hotel, saw a man and a woman riding away on his motorcycle. He recognized one of them as a frequent visitor to the hotel. He tried to chase after them but was unable to catch up.

Police conducted a follow-up operation and tracked down the couple at their home in Barangay Payatas in the early hours of March 29. The victim confirmed their identities, as they were regular guests at the hotel.

Authorities used surveillance footage and investigation techniques to verify the suspects’ identities and address. This led to their arrest and the recovery of the stolen motorcycle from their possession.

The male suspect admitted to stealing the motorcycle, claiming financial difficulties forced him to commit the crime. He stated that he intended to use the motorcycle for transportation but had no plans of selling it.

“Nagipit lang po ako, gagamitin ko po sana pangbiyahe-biyahe pero wala ako plano ibenta,” the suspect said.
