Sen. Bato dela Rosa Gives Message of Hope for Former Pres. Duterte amid his Detention
BATO DELA ROSA – The Senator encouraged former President Rodrigo Duterte to keep on fighting amid the challenges in his situation now.
Countless Filipinos celebrated the 80th birthday of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte by attending mass gatherings and rallies that called for his homecoming. Duterte is detained in the detention facility of the ICC (International Criminal Court) for more than a week now.

The ICC investigates the accusations surrounding the war on drugs of the Duterte administration. It has issued an arrest warrant against the former Philippine Chief Executive who has dared it in a House Quad Committee hearing to hurry up in investigating him.
On his 80th birthday, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte asked for prayers for former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte who remains in detention now. The next schedule for the proceedings regarding Duterte’s case is on September 23 which is set as the confirmation of charges against him.

Aside from Vice Pres. Duterte, Honeylet Avanceña, the common-law wife of the former President, and their daughter, Kitty Duterte, are also in The Hague now. They arrived in , Netherlands ahead of Duterte’s birthday to visit the former President.

According to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, she will just set the legal team of former Pres. Duterte and introduce them to her brothers and to “Cielito” or more commonly known as Honeylet. After it, she plans to return to the country as requested by her father. She also stressed that she has an impeachment issue to face.

Following the arrest of the former President, Sen. Bato dela Rosa called it a “betrayal” of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. According to him, the President did not stand by his words over the issue and betrayed the Filipino people and the country.

On the 80th birthday of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Sen. Bato dela Rosa gave him an inspiring message to remain strong and not to surrender as he will overcome all the challenges that are present now. Based on a Facebook post, he stressed that nothing is permanent.
“Itong lahat ng mga pagsubok na ito ngayon ay malalampasan natin. Walang permanent sa mundong ibabaw. Everything is temporary. So magpakatatag lang tayo, laban lang,” Dela Rosa said.
The former Philippine National Police Chief turned Senator also cited not only the Filipinos residing in the country but as well as many people in other countries are sympathizing on the situation of former Pres. Duterte and wants his return in the country. However, on the possibility of an interim release bid of Duterte, Malacañang said that its stand of not recognizing the ICC jurisdiction in the country remains.
