Carlo Aquino fondly talked about his relationship with Charlie Dizon
Kapamilya actor Carlo Aquino shared how he realized that his wife, actress Charlie Dizon is “The One.”
Carlo and Charlie tied the knot in June 2024. Seven months after their relationship started, the actor already proposed to the actress, who wholeheartedly said “yes.”
There had known each other since 2020 but the romance bloomed between them only in September 2022.
In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Carlo Aquino shared that he could say that Charlie Dizon is really for him at this point of their relationship.
“I wanted to settle down na din,” Carlo, who is now 42 years old, shared. “Kasi pagod na ‘kong makipag-date, to meet new people. Yung papakilala ko na naman yung sarili ko,” he added.
The actor expressed admiration for his wife for doing edgy roles and not just the typical romantic leading lady roles. However, Carlo said that he fell in love with Charlie outside showbiz.
“Yung karakter niya, yung being as April (Charlie’s real name), kung paano ko siya nakilala,” he said, highlighting that his wife would always call her family in the US because she is living alone in the Philippines.
The actor said that they were the same in this aspect because he is also a family-oriented person.
Knowing how Charlie values her family, Carlo said that he really took an effort to visit her family in the States back in October 2022. At that time, Carlo had a show in San Francisco with Gigi de Lana.
He visited Charlie’s family alone and he drove for two hours to spend time with them and to know them better. When asked if that was his way to get “pogi points,” the actor laughingly said, “Parang ganun!”
Carlo made sure to ask the blessing from Charlie’s parents before he did the proposal in April 2023. He admitted that, at first, Charlie’s mom was hesitant about this because everything seemed to happened so fast.
However, the actor said that he has proven his love for Charlie. “Ngayon, tanggap na tanggap ako ni Mommy. Mahal na mahal ko yung family ni April,” Carlo Aquino shared.
