Press Officer of Malacañang Briefly Sings ‘Happy Birthday’ Song for Duterte
MALACAÑANG – The Palace greeted former Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte a happy birthday and extended its well wishes for him.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte is detained in a detention facility of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands for more than a week now. It was last March 11 when he was arrested in Manila.

The arrest of Duterte earned the Philippine government and Pres. Bongbong Marcos the bashing of the supporters of the former President. Malacañang defended Marcos Jr. from “betrayal” accusations saying that the government acted on the arrest of Duterte due to its commitment with the Interpol.
Today, countless Duterte supporters are set to participate in street rallies as the former President celebrates his 80th birthday in The Hague. The DDS are calling on the government and the Supreme Court for the homecoming of the former Chief Executive.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has a heartfelt message for former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte on his birthday. According to her, she learned resilience, courage, and the value of education from her father. She is also in The Hague, Netherlands now as she sets the legal team of the former President for his ICC trial.

Honeylet Avanceña, the common-law wife of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, and their daughter, Veronica “Kitty” Duterte also arrived in The Hague for the birthday of former Pres. Duterte. However, it is still unclear if either of them has already been allowed by the ICC to see the former President.

As former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte turns 80 today, Malacañang expressed its wish for a happy birthday to the former President. Based on a report on GMA News, Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro even briefly sang a “Happy Birthday” song for the former President.
”Katulad po ng sinabi natin noong nakaraan, dapat lamang po nating batiin ng ‘Happy Birthday, ang dating Pangulong Duterte,” Castro expressed.
The Palace Press Officer further expressed its wish for Duterte for good fortune and health. Based on the report, Malacañang believes that the former President needs it.
”And of course we wish more years to come, we also wish good health, good fortune, kailangan po niya ‘yan,” the Malacañang Press Officer said.

Reportedly, USec. Claire Castro stressed that Malacañang will not stop the public activities for the birthday of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte as long as they follow the rules and abide by the law.
As the former President turns 80, Senator Imee Marcos said she wants to go to The Hague and give the P10,000-check for Duterte. According to the Presidential Sister, the former President is already qualified under the Expanded Centenarian Act.
