Nikki Valdez Reveals Truth About Her Troubling Relationship W/ Troy Montero
NIKKI VALDEZ – Actress Nikki Valdez finally breaks her silence, revealing the truth about her difficult and emotionally challenging relationship with Troy Montero.
Actress Nikki Valdez recently opened up about her past relationship with actor Troy Montero, describing it as both difficult and emotionally taxing. Appearing as a guest on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Monday, March 24, alongside Bernadette Allyson, she reflected on their time together, which coincided with a crucial period in Troy’s career.
During the interview, host Boy Abunda revisited Nikki’s past with Troy, prompting her to share her perspective. She admitted that their relationship faced several challenges, especially since Troy was at the peak of his career. Nikki also recalled how their relationship took many by surprise, with some questioning why Troy had chosen to be with her.
“Alam mo na naman na ‘to, Tito Boy, at saka pinag-uusapan na lang natin ‘to. Hindi na para maapektuhan pa tayong lahat. But you know this very well that during that time, it was his peak, the peak of his career and ang daming na-shock na ‘Bakit siya?’ Bakit daw ako,” Nikki shared.
She also remembered receiving painful comments from people who believed that foreigners like Troy usually favored women with a specific look. These remarks had a profound impact on her and her family, particularly her older brother, who was in college at the time.
“My Kuya then was in college and I remember he told me, napanood niya ‘yung isang interview sa TV na ‘yun na nga, ‘yung parang ‘Bakit si Nikki Valdez? Ang mga foreigner talaga mahilig sa mga ganiyan.’ So nasaktan ‘yung Kuya ko for me,” she recounted.
Due to the intense scrutiny and negative remarks, Nikki admitted that she eventually distanced herself from entertainment news. She stopped reading or buying newspapers to protect herself from the hurtful things people were saying.
“Kung meron man, hindi ako nag-o-open ng entertainment section. Na-trauma talaga ako,” Nikki revealed.
Despite the painful experience, Nikki has moved forward, focusing on her career and personal growth. Her story highlights the challenges public figures face in navigating relationships under public scrutiny.
