Authorities Arrest Woman for Drowning Pet Dog at Airport BathroomĀ
A woman was arrested for drowning her pet dog at an airport bathroom after being told she could not bring it on her flight.
A woman identified as Alison Lawrence faces charges for drowning her pet dog after being told she could not bring it on her flight at an airport in Florida. The female passenger from Kenner, Louisiana, was scheduled to travel to Colombia on December 16, 2024, with her Miniature Schnauzer named Tywinn.
However, authorities flagged issues with the dog’s travel documents, preventing it from boarding the flight.

Surveillance footage captured Lawrence walking towards the airport restroom with her dog. After 20 minutes, she emerged without Tywinn. She then attempted to re-enter the terminal to proceed with her journey to Colombia, leaving behind her pet.
An airport janitor later discovered the heartbreaking scene. While cleaning, the janitor noticed water and dog food spilled on the floor. Upon returning, they found the lifeless body of the Miniature Schnauzer in a trash bin, along with the dog’s companion vest, collar, rabies tag, travel bag, and identification tag.
Investigators quickly identified Lawrence as the owner through a microchip embedded in the dog. A necropsy confirmed that the poor animal had been intentionally drowned.

Authorities arrested Lawrence on March 19, 2025, in Lake County, Florida, charging her with aggravated animal abuse. Reports indicate that she was released after posting a $5,000 bail.
The incident has sparked outrage among animal lovers, with many calling for stricter laws against animal cruelty. It reminds of the responsibilities pet owners have and the consequences of neglecting them.

While air travel can sometimes present challenges for pet owners, cruelty should never be an option.
