Jojo Mendrez talked about rumors linking him to StarStruck boys
Businessman-singer Jojo Mendrez, tagged as Revival King, said that he no longer needs to explain the rumors linking him to actor Mark Herras and Rainier Castillo.
Mark and Rainier rose to fame after joining the Kapuso talent search StarStruck. They did several acting projects together with others who came from StarStruck and eventually did solo stuff.
Mark and Rainier were entangled in an issue with the same person just recently. In January, as Jojo was promoting his revival song Somewhere In My Past, he was spotted with Mark at the Okada Hotel.
They explained that it was part of their collaboration. Mark Herras was paid to help promote Jojo Mendrez’s song. However, malicious speculations still lingered on social media, especially when Mark surprised Jojo with a bouquet during the latter’s media conference.
Early this month, Jojo was spotted with Rainier at a hotel-casino. Another round of speculations circulated online because of this. The singer and the actor did not speak about the issues that surfaced because they were together.
Based on the article in PEP, during the launch of Jojo’s new and original song Nandito Lang Ako, Rainier was present. The actor hugged the singer-businessman when he was crying. With this, inevitably, people would speculate that Jojo being linked to Mark and Rainier is just a gimmick.
However, Jojo debunked the speculation. “Actually, hindi naman para ma-promote yung single. Kasi dumadating yung pagkakataon na nagkakameron sa ganyang controversy base sa mga nakikita pag magkakasama kami,” he said.
The singer-businessman also stressed that as time goes by, the closeness between two people will definitely develop. He added that Rainier is not just present during his song promotion but in other instances as well.
Jojo had a “no comment” answer when asked if he helped Mark to improve his life. The singer-businessman said that as much as possible, he does not want to talk about Mark and Rainier anymore.
He said that no matter what he will say or explain, people would still have different opinions. “Nung nagkaroon ng chance na nagkasama kami ni Rainier, nabigyan ng kulay yun. Parang ang hirap tanggapin, e. Hindi ko ma-explain. Pag magsalita ako na hindi naman totoo, hindi naman maniniwala yung tao. So, ano pa ang i-explain ko?” Jojo Mendrez stressed.
