Pres. Bongbong Marcos Speaks at 128th Founding Anniversary of the Philippine Army
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President gave a message during the 128th founding anniversary of the Philippine Army.
The biggest and oldest branch of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, which Vice Pres. Sara Duterte questioned about its silence on Duterte’s arrest, is the Philippine Army. It is the branch that is responsible for the ground warfare. It has been in the service in the country since the 1930s.

Currently, the Philippine Army is led by Lieutenant General Roy M. Galido who assumed the role on August 7, 2023. The Commanding General of the Philippine Army has been part of the Western Mindanao Command, the 6th Infantry Division, and the 601st Infantry Brigade.
Today, the Philippine Army celebrates its 128th founding anniversary. Pres. Bongbong Marcos was one of the government officials who graced the anniversary celebration of the country’s ground warfare command.

Based on a report on GMA News, Pres. Bongbong Marcos gave a speech at the 128 founding anniversary celebration. He stressed that the government must listen and serve with integrity amid the challenges that the country is facing now.
“To achieve this, the government must lead by example, we strive for a government that listens, that acts and serves with integrity. That is the only way to rise above adversities and move forward as a people,” Marcos Jr. said.
The Philippine government is currently earning criticisms from many Duterte supporters following the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. The Filipino people also witnessed the faction arising between the Dutertes and the Marcoses, two (2) of the biggest political clans in the country.

There are claims that Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly betrayed the Filipinos and the country for surrendering former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte to the International Criminal Court (ICC). Some people believe it is an insult on the sovereignty of the country.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos maintained that there was legal process in the arrest of Duterte. He also denied that it is a sort of political persecution saying that the issue between the ICC and the former President was already there before he came into the picture.
As for Davao City Mayor Baste Duterte, the arrest of former Pres. Duterte is a “political maneuver” of the Marcos administration.
