Gamefowl Reportedly Abused by Unidentified Suspect in Tabaco City
ALBAY – A gamefowl was allegedly abused in Tabaco City, the suspect escape but accident left an underwear.
Animal abuse, also called animal cruelty, happens when someone harms, mistreats, or neglects an animal. This can be done on purpose, like hitting or hurting an animal, or through neglect, such as not giving them enough food, water, or a safe place to live.
Some common types of animal abuse include physical harm, where animals are beaten or burned, and neglect, where they are left starving or abandoned in poor conditions. Animal fighting, like dogfighting or cockfighting, is also a serious form of cruelty, as well as hoarding, where too many animals are kept in unhealthy and crowded spaces.
Another disturbing form of abuse is sexual harm, which is illegal and inhumane.
Recently, a resident of Barangay Cobo was left shocked and frustrated after discovering that his prized gamefowl had been taken from its cage and was found weak early in the morning.
The incident was reported at around 6 AM when the owner noticed that his gamefowl was missing. Upon searching the area, he found the bird in a weakened state, lying outside its cage. An underwear was left next to the animal.
Authorities suspect that an unidentified individual may have abused the gamefowl before fleeing the scene. Further adding to the unusual circumstances, the same suspect allegedly stole a pair of pants from a nearby clothesline.
The incident has sparked outrage among residents, with many calling for a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend the suspect. Local officials are urging anyone with information to come forward to help solve the case.
Animal welfare advocates have also condemned the act, emphasizing the need for stricter laws to protect animals from abuse. They are calling on authorities to take the matter seriously and ensure that justice is served.
