Netizen Criticizes Bacolod Airport for Placing Steel Railings on Seats

Bacolod Airport Elicits Reactions Online for Placing Steel Railings on Seats

A concerned netizen criticized the management of an airport in Bacolod City for placing steel railings on the streets.

An airport is a place where airplanes take off and land. It has runways, terminals, and various facilities to help passengers travel from one place to another. Airports have areas for check-in, security checks, baggage claim, and waiting lounges.

Some airports also have shops, restaurants, and other services to make travel more convenient for passengers.

Recently, Ralph A. Sarmiento, a Facebook user, shared photos of the newly placed railings at Bacolod airport. The post immediately spread like wildfire on social media and elicited comments from the netizens.

Sarmiento called out the management of Bacolod-Silay International Airport for installing steel railings on passenger seats, preventing people from sitting while waiting for their loved ones.

In the photos, the steel barriers are visibly blocking the seats, leaving passengers and visitors with no place to sit. This unexpected setup has frustrated many, as waiting areas are supposed to provide comfort, not inconvenience.

Many online users expressed their disappointment, questioning the airport’s decision and its impact on travelers. Some pointed out that airports should prioritize passenger convenience rather than making changes that limit their access to basic facilities.

Others speculated on the purpose behind the installation, with some assuming it was meant for crowd control or security measures.

Many netizens calls for an explanation from airport authorities grew louder. Many are hoping that the management will address the concerns and reconsider the decision, ensuring that travelers and visitors can wait comfortably while at the airport.
