Sharon Cuneta and Janice de Belen talked about being mothers
Seasoned actresses Sharon Cuneta and Janice de Belen shared their thoughts on the “sako” scene in the Kapamilya series Saving Grace.
Sharon and Janice are among the cast members of the series featuring Julia Montes and child star Zia Grace. In the series, Zia’s character was abused and his abusive stepfather, Chito, played by Christian Bables placed her inside a sack.
Indeed, this was heart-wrenching and Zia was able to portray the role well that ignited emotions from her fellow cast members.

In a recent interview, as mothers, Sharon Cuneta and Janice de Belen expressed their thoughts on the “sako” scene. For Janice, she will take a revenge inflicting more pain to the abuser. “Maghahanap ako ng mas malaking sako para isilid ang nagsilid sa [mga anak] ko sa sako,” she said in jest.
Sharon had a more intense answer to this. “Napaglamayan na siya, nakakulong na ako,” the Megstar quipped.
On the other hand, the two seasoned actresses had serious answers when asked how mothers should not act when it comes to raising their children.

Sharon said that this is not about possession but mutual respect between the mother and the children. She said that it is difficult to balance being a friend to the children and having authority over them.
Sharon also said that mothers should not expect that their children would grow up just like them. “It’s not imposing on them what you think they should do or be. It’s not about insisting that they do what you want because hindi mo hawak at puso nila,” the Megastar said.

Janice stressed that there will come a time when mothers have to let go of their children. She said that motherhood is not a puppet show because parents are supposed to be the guiding force of their kids and not those who will control them.
“Because at some point, you have to set them free and hope and pray that you did a good job,” she added.
