Ex-Pres. Rodrigo Duterte Throws Tirades vs. Marcos Jr.
RODRIGO DUTERTE – The former President claimed that the Marcos administration allegedly wants to remove Vice President Sara Duterte and might declare Martial Law.
From being running mates in the 2022 Elections, the relationship between Vice Pres. Sara Duterte and Pres. Bongbong Marcos has swiftly turned sour in 2024. According to the Vice President, they did not really start as friends and they only talked during the campaign and about work.
Amid the souring relationship between the President and the Vice President, Duterte faced a lot of questions over the spending of the Confidential Funds of the offices she led — the Office of the Vice President (OVP) and the Department of Education (DepEd).
Amid the issue, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte called on the House to investigate Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ office confidential funds spending. Her remarks came after the Commission on Audit (COA) released its report that the OP remains the top Confidential Funds spender.
Amid the issue over the spending of the OVP and the DepEd Confidential Funds, impeachment complaints were filed against the Vice President. A few weeks ago, the House of Representatives ruled to approve the impeachment of Duterte.
Recently, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte threw tirades against Pres. Bongbong Marcos and his camp anew. Based on a report on GMA News, at a rally in Cebu, the former Chief Executive claimed that Marcos Jr. might allegedly either declare a Martial Law to extend his term or find someone who can replace him.
However, according to Duterte, no one can allegedly win against his daughter, thus, the Marcos camp is allegedly trying to remove her from office. Based on the report, he stressed that the other camp is doing politics.
“Si Inday, gusto nilang tanggalin. Pamumulitika ba. Dahil pagkatapos kay Marcos, kung mananalo sila kung hindi siya diktador, may ipapalit sa kanya. Wala silang ipapalit kung makakalaban si Inday kasi walang talagang talo si Inday. Ngayon pa lang gusto nilang pilayan para okay sa kanila,” former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte said.
One of the lawmakers who approved the impeachment of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte in the House is Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative Sandro Marcos. The Presidential Son has previously expressed his disappointment against the Vice President over her tirades against his father and their family.
