Countless Catholic Leaders, Members Pray for Pope Francis amid his Health Battle
POPE FRANCIS – Vatican issued an update on the condition of the Roman Pontiff who remains confined in Gemelli hospital in Rome.
Millions of people across the globe are currently praying for the Pope who is battling for his life in Gemelli hospital in Rome now. He remains confined in the special papal suite in Gemelli since February 14, 2025.

Pope Francis developed pneumonia from bronchitis. When he was young, a part of his lungs was removed and it is also posing challenges to him now amid his health condition. The Roman Pontiff had feelings of a nearing death.
The Pope believes that he may not live longer and has even told two (2) individuals close to him that he might “not make it this time”. Amid the health battle of the Pope, wake and funeral preparations in case of his demise have started.

Initially, it was reported that the Pope has focal pneumonia which means that limited parts of his lungs have been affected. Based on recent updates, the Sovereign Pontiff is suffering from double pneumonia — two (2) of his lungs are affected.

Pope Francis’ condition went better on the 7th day of his hospital confinement. Slight improvements were noted and his fever was gone. However, the doctors warned that the Pope is still not out of danger.
On Saturday, the Roman Pontiff had a respiratory attack. It left him in a critical condition. It also required the transfusion of two (2) units of blood.
Amid the prayer brigades for Pope Francis, Vatican recently issued a short update regarding the Roman Pontiff’s health condition. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Vatican said that the 88-year-old Pope slept and rested.
“The night passed well, the pope slept and is resting,” Vatican said.
Philippine Pres. Bongbong Marcos has also issued a statement on Pope Francis.
