Kapamilya actress Andrea Brillantes has this to say about being one of the new stars of the top-rating action series “Batang Quiapo”.
Among the new Batang Quiapo cast members are Andrea Brillantes, Jake Cuenca, Angel Aquino, Juan Rodrigo, Paolo Paraiso, Gillian Vicencio, Shamaine Buencamino, and veteran stars Michael de Mesa, Albert Martinez, Dante Rivero, Chanda Romero, and Celia Rodriguez.
The series’ director Coco Martin is grateful for the love and support people pour into their show.
Brillantes, among the new stars of the FPJBQ, felt elated when she first heard about joining the top-rating series. At the same time, she also felt edgy thinking about working with Coco who is known for his different style when it comes to working.
“It is a great opportunity for me as an actress but at the same time, alam ko kasi iba ang, may sariling flavor si Direk Coco, may sarili siyang timpla sa set kung paano ang script, alam naman natin kung paano walang script sa set ng Batang Quiapo,” she expressed.
Despite being anxious about a lot of things, she still grabbed the opportunity she was excited about. Thinking about working with some of the best actors in the industry like Michael de Mesa and Shamaine Buencamino also added to the pressure she was feeling.
While no actress lasts long in the series, Brillantes expressed her desire to work for as long as she can in the series.
Meanwhile, as more stars join the show, some have bid their goodbyes. Lorna Tolentino and Lito Lapid as Amanda and Supremo, respectively, have left the series. They were caught in a bloody crossfire and Amanda died when she caught the bullet aimed at Supremo. She sacrificed herself.
Supremo, on the other hand, also sacrificed himself when he shielded Tanggol from the bullet fired by Pacheco. As they said their goodbyes, Lapid praised Coco as the director and producer of this top-rating show.
“Hindi niya tinitipid ang production, lahat ibinibigay niya,” he expressed.
