215 of 306 House members signed and supported the impeachment complaint against the vice president. This stemmed from six major allegations such as misusing public funds while the vice president and education department head; unexplained wealth; death threats to the president; bribery and corruption; involvement in extrajudicial killings; and destabilization, insurrection, and public disorder.
On Thursday, a House lawmaker who will play a significant role in the impeachment trial of Duterte confessed that they are uncertain who initiated the complaint. This matter has been discussed for many months now.
Manila 3rd District Rep. Joel Chua said in ANC’s Headstart, “Ito naman po talaga matagal nang pinag-uusapan at pinag-aaralan itong fourth impeachment complaint, but it just so happened na kahapon nagkaroon ng caucus ang party members ng Lakas [CMD].”
Lakas-CMD is spearheaded by Speaker Martin Romualdez and the ruling party at the House.
Chua, the chairperson of the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability, shared that his support came from being aware of the allegations. There were hearings about them and they saw that there are bases.

- Rep. Gerville “JinkyBitrics” Luistro (Batangas, 2nd District)
