A female netizen complained after she was allegedly asked to remove her top during an X-ray while facing the technician.
Recently, Corazon P. Poquita, a Facebook user, shared her feelings after she was reportedly asked to undress during the X-ray while facing the technician. The post quickly went viral and received mixed reactions online.
Poquita expressed her frustration online after she was allegedly asked to remove her upper clothing while facing the technician during the procedure. The woman went to the clinic to have her shoulder examined.
The female netizen did not expect that she would be told to remove all her clothing on her upper body, including her bra. She tried to explain that she was wearing a backless undershirt and that it did not cover the part of her shoulder that needed to be checked.
The woman believed there was no reason to take everything off. She agreed to remove her bra, thinking that would be enough for the X-ray.
However, the technician reportedly insisted that she remove her top completely. What made the situation more uncomfortable for her was that she had to face the technician during the process. She also shared that the technician was male, which added to her uneasiness. For her, the experience felt awkward and embarrassing.
Some people explained that certain clothing items, especially those with metal parts, can affect X-ray results and may need to be removed.
Others, however, sided with her and said clinics should be more sensitive when it comes to a patient’s comfort and privacy. Many suggested that medical facilities should provide proper gowns and give patients the option to request a female technician if available.
