Sara Duterte Calls on House Members To Respect OVP: ‘If they don’t like me, they have to respect the Office’

SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President called on the House members to respect the Office of the Vice President if they want to be respected.

Vice Pres. Duterte is involved in several issues right now. The confidential funds of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) was questioned but the House panel has decided to end the investigation amid the filing of impeachment complaints against the Vice President.

Two (2) impeachment complaints were filed against the Vice President. There is also a looming 3rd impeachment complaint to be filed against Duterte by the religious group.

Previously, a House member claimed that it is under the mandate of the lower chamber to process filed impeachment complaints and the House has no choice on it. The Office of the Vice President’s spending of its funds is one of the issues in the impeachment complaints filed against her.

Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte called on the House to also investigate the Confidential Funds of Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ office. Her statement came after the Commission on Audit (COA) revealed that the OP remains the office with the highest confidential and intelligence funds spending.

Vice Pres. Duterte claimed that she feels disrespected that the Office of the Vice President (OVP) is allegedly being singled-out in the investigation of the Confidential Funds. Based on a report on GMA News, she claimed that she is not evading the questions over her office’s CFs but because it is a matter of “national security”.

“In fact, two quarters of the Department of Education are already cleared by the Commission and Audit, but it is still being questioned inside the committee in the House of Representatives,” the Vice President said.

Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte called on the House members to respect the Office of the Vice President (OVP) if they want to be respected. She stressed that “respect begets respect”.

“If they don’t like me, they don’t like my version, they don’t like Sara Duterte, but they have to respect the Office of the Vice President,” the Vice President said.

Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also spoke on her request to the AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) amid her claim that there are threats to her life.
