PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday (December 13, 2024)
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that three weather systems will bring cloudy to rainy conditions over parts of the country.
On Friday (December 13, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Three weather systems will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that northeast monsoon, shear line, and intertropical convergence zone will bring rains over parts of the country. The amihan and easterlies will be affecting Northern Luzon and Central Luzon while the ITCZ will affect Southern Mindanao.

The ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi. The easterlies will bring similar weather conditions over Bicol Region and Quezon. Flash floods or landslides are possible in these areas due to moderate to heavy rains.
“But we don’t expect it to be as strong as the day before, Generally fair weather will prevail in Abra, Benguet, and a huge portion of Central Luzon despite chances of light rains,” Torres said.
Amihan will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Ifugao.

The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, and the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience the same weather conditions due to the easterlies. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.
“For the rest of Palawan, Visayas, pati na rin sa Mindanao area, the weather will be good. So it would be warm, especially around noon, and there’s a possibility of isolated thunderstorms by afternoon and evening,” she added.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
