Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s Legal Counsel Appears at NBI Headquarters

Sara Duterte’s legal counsel has arrived at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and confirmed that she will not attend the hearing.

The recent tirades of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte against Pres. Bongbong Marcos and the other Marcoses have hooked attention. Aside from implicating the Marcoses in the death of Ninoy Aquino, the Vice President also aired a strong statement that many considered as “threats” against the lives of the Marcos.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that her final wish is the death of Pres. Bongbong Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez in case a supposed plot against her life succeeds. The authorities find it as a national concern that should be clarified.

Both the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) confirmed that they will investigate the remarks of the Vice President. The NBI was quick to issue a subpoena for Duterte over her remarks against Marcos Jr.

The National Bureau of Investigation initially scheduled the probe on November 29 but had to reschedule it to December 11. The Vice President failed to attend the November 29 investigation set by the investigation bureau.

Then, the Vice President admitted that her presence at the House panel hearing over the spending of the Confidential Funds was her priority. The House panel decided to cancel the hearing so the VP cannot use the probe as an excuse but she still was not able to appear at the probe.

Ahead of today when the NBI investigation was set, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte said she cannot attend the NBI probe as it is not mandated for her to appear in-person based on her understanding of the explanation of her lawyers.

Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s legal counsel has arrived at the NBI headquarters today. The lawyer confirmed that the Vice President could not come for the hearing.
