Sen. Rodante Marcoleta Speaks on Orly Guteza Following Zaldy Co’s Claims
RODANTE MARCOLETA – The Minority Senator called his surprise witness, Orly Guteza, as allegedly the “most credible witness ever”.
The Senate continued its flood control hearings despite the creation of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure. The ICI was created upon the order of President Bongbong Marcos to probe the flood control mess in the country.
However, amid the vacancy of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee chairmanship then following the resignation of Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson, the flood control hearings were on pause. It was only recently when it resumed its investigation after Lacson was re-elected to the post.
Sen. Ping Lacson wanted to invite Orly Guteza, the surprise witness presented by Sen. Rodante Marcoleta during a previous Senate flood control hearing. However, according to the Senate President Pro Tempore, Guteza could not be located.
Orly Guteza is a former marine who claimed to be a former aide of Zaldy Co. During his Senate flood control hearing testimony, Guteza claimed that he was allegedly part of the team that supposedly delivered suitcases filled with millions of money to the residences of Co and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Amid the efforts to locate Orly Guteza, the Philippine Navy clarified that he is not under marines’ protection. Recently, Zaldy Co released a series of videos wherein he made his claims over the corruption issue in the Philippines.
Zaldy Co confirmed the claims of Orly Guteza and tagged Pres. Bongbong Marcos and former Speaker Martin Romualdez in the corruption issue in the country. According to him, it is allegedly true that they delivered suitcases filled with money to the residences of Romualdez. Recently, Sen. Rodante Marcoleta who presented the former marine during the Senate flood control hearing spoke on him.
Based on a post of News5 on social media, Sen. Rodante Marcoleta called Orly Guteza as allegedly the “most credible witness ever”. According to him, Guteza is supposedly the one who connected former Speaker Martin Romualdez and Zaldy Co.
“Siya lamang ang tumukoy at kumonekta sa pagitan ni Zaldy Co at dating Speaker Romualdez,” Marcoleta said during the rally of the Iglesia ni Cristo members.
However, according to Sen. Rodante Marcoleta, the focus then was allegedly on the supposed fake notary of the lawyer in the affidavit of Orly Guteza. The lawyer whose name and supposed signature appeared in the document denied that she signed the affidavit.
