On Tuesday (December 3, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and shear line will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that the shear line will affect the eastern section of Central Luzon while the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan will affect Northern Luzon.
The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Quezon, and Kalayaan Islands.
The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains over the rest of Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region.
Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.
The remaining parts of the country will experience generally fair weather but chances of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected due to the localized thunderstorms.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. Moderate surrounding sea conditions are expected over the rest of the country, according to PAGASA.
2.5 to 3.4-meter wave heights are possible in Northern Luzon due to the northeast monsoon.
