PAGASA Says Shear Line and Amihan to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that shear line and amihan will bring rains over parts of the country.

On (December 2, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and shear line will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA weather specialist Grace Castañeda reported that two weather systems will continue to bring overcast skies and rains in most parts of Luzon. The shear line and the Northeast Monsoon will bring rains over parts of Luzon and Visayas.

The shear line will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Western Visayas, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, and Bulacan.

“Ngayong araw nga po, ‘yung shear line pa rin ‘yung patuloy na magdudulot ng mga pag-ulan dito sa may silangan ng Luzon, maging sa ilang bahagi po ng Southern Luzon,” Castañeda said.

Amihan will bring cloudy skies with rains over the rest of Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region.

The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon.

“Dito sa bahagi ng Cordillera Administrative Region, maging sa nalalabing bahagi po ng Cagayan Valley, ay magiging malamig din po ‘yung panahon at ‘yung maulap na kalangitan na may mga kasamang pag-ulan na dulot naman ng amihan,” she added.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the rest of the country. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the eastern section of Luzon will be rough. The rest of Luzon will have moderate waters. Slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions are expected over Visayas and Mindanao, according to PAGASA.
