There were several presidential candidates in the 2024 U.S. Elections. However, the race was tight between Republicans’ bet Donald Trump and Democratic Party’s bet U.S. Vice Pres. Kamala Harris.
Donald Trump won the U.S. Elections and Kamala Harris conceded before the ending of the counting of votes. She called him, conceded in the race, and congratulated Trump who is set to be the 47th president of U.S.
Several national leaders congratulated Trump and one of them is Philippine Pres. Bongbong Marcos. He even said that he met Trump as a young man. Recently, Marcos Jr. had a chance to talk with Trump over the phone.
On the sidelines of relief distribution for the victims of the typhoon in Catanduanes, Pres. Marcos said that Trump even asked about his mother, Imelda, who is the friend of the U.S. President-elect.

Meanwhile, Marcos Jr. assured that the Philippines’ envoy to the United States is already on the work. Previously, Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel Romualdez has advised the undocumented Filipinos in U.S. to go home immediately and voluntarily.
Romualdez stressed that going home voluntarily will prevent them being deported and placed on the blacklist which could end their chance of visiting U.S. again. Recently, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump confirmed that he is eyeing the use of U.S. Military in the mass deportation of the undocumented migrants.
