Melai Cantiveros mentioned Kris Aquino in a recent interview
Comedienne-host Melai Cantiveros shared what she learned from Queen of all Media Kris Aquino.
Melai has come a long way since she won in the Kapamilya reality show Pinoy Big Brother for its Double Up edition in 2015. From that, she became a contract artist of ABS-CBN and remained a Kapamilya until now.
Throughout her career, she has done different shows and starred in movies. Currently, Melai is hosting the Bisaya talk show Kuan On One in which she would interview artists from Visayas and Mindanao.
The show of Melai Cantiveros recently announced the line-up for the second season. In a media conference for her show’s Season 2, the comedienne-host expressed gratitude to Kris Aquino.
Melai said that she learned a lot from the Queen of Talk, based on the article in PUSH. She shared what advice she really treasured until now. “Marami akong natutunan sa kaniya. Natutunan ko sa kaniya na you have to listen. Kapag may iniinterview ka, kailangan marunong ka makinig kasi siyempre ano naman ang maflow ng interview kung hindi ka marunong makinig, tanong ka lang ng tanong,” she shared.
She added that the host should listen to the interviewee and the conversation will flow and the host cannot assume what the interviewee should say.
The host should also make the guests feel comfortable in order to deliver the story with delight. Melai also shared that Kris is one of her biggest influences when it comes to hosting a talk show. She recalled that she guested on Kris’s show several times and she learned a lot from that experience.
The comedienne-host also said that if there is a possibility, she would like to interview Kris. She recently had a sweet exchange with Kris on social media. Melai expressed happiness that Kris was able to return to the Philippines.
Aside from the Queen of all media, Melai Cantiveros also said that she wants to interview King of Talk Boy Abunda and Ultimate Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga.
