Korean Actor Song Jae-rim passed away
Korean Actor Song Jae-rim, 39, who starred in Moon Embracing the Sun, was found dead in his apartment in Seoul.
Jae-rim had his acting debut in the movie Actresses in 2009. It was in the 2012 drama The Moon Embracing the Sun that he rose to prominence and after that, he went on with his appearance in dramas such as Two Weeks, Unkind Ladies, and most recently Queen Woo.
On November 12, based on the report from The Mirror US, Seongdong Police Station in Seoul confirmed that Jae-rim’s body was found lifeless inside his house in Seoul. The report stated that the actor’s friend arrived for lunch around 12:30 p.m. and discovered the actor was already deceased.
A 2-page letter was also found in the scene. As of this writing, authorities haven’t released yet an update regarding the cause of death. However, police stated that there were no signs of foul play.
The family of the deceased actor announced that a private funeral for family members will take place on Nov. 14. This news saddened many of Jae-rim’s fans.
“I just finished Queen Woo just this time and opened my feeds and this news saddened and shocked me. I knew him first because of Running Man and 2ne1’s MV Go Away. Rest well Song Jae Rim,” a fan wrote on social media.
Prior to this unexpected incident, fans already noticed something different on Jae-rim’s Instagram page. The South Korean’s last IG update was 10 months ago and the post featured his mirror selfies. Jae-rim opted to deactivate the comment section of his page on the photo-sharing social media platform.
However, something was very noticeable for his fans. He changed his account name into the Korean phrase “긴 여행 시작” which translates to “the beginning of a long journey.”
Meanwhile, other South Korean stars who shocked their fans because of their unexpected death were Cha In Ha, Parasite Actor Lee Sun Kyun, actress Yoo Ju Eun, and actress Han Ji-sung.
