Amid the threats of Typhoon Marce, President Bongbong Marcos released a statement.
Here is the statement of President Bongbong Marcos amid the threats of Marce PH which is now in the typhoon category.
Typhoon Marce threatens the Babuyan Islands and the northern part of mainland Luzon. It rapidly intensified into a typhoon level and continues to gain strength as it heads out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). PAGASA said Marce will maintain its west-northwestward movement and will slowly move over the waters east of Cagayan.

It will then gradually speed up from Thursday, November 7, to Saturday, November 9, over the Babuyan Channel and the northern portion of the West Philippine Sea. It is expected to landfall and traverse the Babuyan Islands or the northern parts of mainland Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, and Apayao from Thursday afternoon to early Friday morning.
There’s a possibility that it will pass instead of making a landfall but either situation could cause serious impacts. Amid the threats, Philippine President Bongbong Marcos issued a statement to remind the people of the calamity and to put the related government agencies on high alert.
In his issued statement, the president told the people to prepare for the upcoming typhoon and to follow the general rules and regulations at times like this for their safety. Addressing the government agencies, he stated, “Sa mga ahensya ng pamahalaan, you all know the drill. I am placing you all on high alert.”
He also added that a good system of communication to acquire warnings and other information is needed. Marcos stressed that “knowledge saves lives”. He also reiterated to observe water levels and prepare rescue equipment for emergencies and for the relief goods to be placed in a safe area for smooth delivery to those who will be affected.
The statement added, “Ngayon pa lang pinapasalamatan ko na ang lahat ng medical personnel, sa publiko man o pribadong mga pasilidad, na nakaantabay na maglapat ng lunas sa mga nangangailangan.”
