John Wayne Sace shared a glimpse of his life after leaving showbiz
Former teen star John Wayne Sace was interviewed by seasoned journalists Bernadette Sembrano and Julius Babao and here’s what they said about him.
John Wayne has been away from the spotlight for many years already. Unlike other former child and teen stars who found other careers, John Wayne seemed to have taken a different path.
He admitted in an interview with Ogie Diaz in 2021 that he almost committed robbery because of alcohol and drug addiction.
Just recently, he was arrested for allegedly shooting his friend to death. John Wayne Sace claimed that a threat in his life led him to do that. However, this was debunked by the victim’s family.
Following this incident in the life of the former teen star, Bernadette Sembrano and Julius Babao recalled the time when they interviewed him. The female journalist interviewed John Wayne in July 2023.
Bernadette admitted that it was difficult for her to pull off that interview. It was because the former teen star had answers far from the questions. It was hard for her to process what could be the takeaway. After the shooting incident, Bernadette said that she somehow understood why netizens commented that John Wayne was high on something during the interview.
“Comments from the interview said he was high on something — marami ang galit sa droga. Some expressed compassion. Ang iba, panghihinayang. Sayang,” she shared.
When Bernadette asks John Wayne what could the next for him, the former teen star has no vision for his future.
For Julius Babao, it was “panghihinayang.” The TV5 journalist shared that they offered John Wayne Sace several times to undergo rehabilitation but he refused. They also offered to get him out where he was at that time, but then again, he did not accept this.
“Tayo po ay nakikiramay sa pamilya ng biktima. Tanging hukuman na lamang ang makakasagot sa mga tanong na naglalaro sa ating mga isipan,” Julius said in his post.
