John Wayne Admits Attempted Robbery Due to Addictions but Defeated by Conscience
Former actor John Wayne Sace revealed that he attempted robbery at the time of his addiction to drugs and alcohol but was defeated by conscience.
In talent manager Ogie Diaz’s latest YouTube video, he interviewed John Wayne about his life after leaving the show business. Despite being addicted to alcohol and drugs and having nothing, the former actor is still unable to commit a robbery.
Smiling John shared in Ogies’ interview, “Muntik na akong mangholdap dati, oo muntik na”. He said that his victims, 2 women, cried when they announced the holdup.
He revealed that they had took the chance for robbery since that day was payday. However, he did not continue with the robbery and got into an argument with his cohort.
“Sabi ko, ate tumayo ka na diyan. Tapos ‘yung kasama ko (sa panghoholdap), kami ang nag-away. Sobrang tagal na panahon na ito, dalawa kaming lalaki, dalawa rin silang babae. Tapos inakbayan na kasi ako tututok (patalim sa tagiliran) desperado na rin kasi ano noon sa buhay,” John said.

According to him, he was tapped by his conscience when the lady victim said that the money they supposed to get was for her mother. And he suddenly realized after he heard the woman crying and when she said that her salary was for her family.
“Nakakapanginig hindi dahil nangholdap ka kundi parang bumalik ‘yung dating ako na, ‘uy ano ka ba?’ Hindi ako ‘yun! Hindi ako ‘yung taong ‘yun. Hindi ‘yun si John Wayne,” he shared.
“Umiyak ‘yung babae na parang bata, alam mo ‘yung paa niya (inilarawang naglulupasay), ganu’n! ‘Parang awa n’yo na po!’ he added.
He said that his cohort went angry towards him and sparks a dispute, telling him he is useless to ruin their plan and putting their life in danger. He told his cohort that he won’t do such thing because it could become his habit and could continue to happen.
With so much going on in the life of John Wayne who was addicted to drugs and alcohol, he is still grateful because he is alive today. Ogie asked what happened next to him and the woman, he revealed that he repeatedly ask for apologies to the victim.
“Itinayo ko siya tapos sabi ko, ‘ate tama na, wala naman akong kukunin sa ‘yo hanggang sa naglakad kami, sabi ko ‘ate dito na ako ha, ‘wag kang sisigaw wala kaong kukunin sa’yo, pasensiya ka na sorry talaga. Hanggang sa tumawid na ako. Habang naglalakad kami humingi ako ng sorry, sabi ko ‘ate sorry hindi ko talaga gawain ito, wala lang akong pera at hirap din ako sa buhay,” John Wayne recalled.
It was also mentioned that before he allegedly did the holdup, he asked for forgiveness from the Lord God. Although this has happened a long time ago, John Wayne has a message for the woman he almost kidnapped.
“Kung sino ka man alam kong hindi mo nakilala nu’ng gabi na ‘yun siguro ikaw pag nakita kila makikilala kita kasi malinaw, eh. Pag nakita kita ulit, siguro bigyan kita ng flowers na baka magtaka ka bakit kita binigyan, peace offering koi yon sa ‘yo, deserved mong maging masaya o deserved mong maging ligtas kasi nagtatrabaho ka nang marangal, nang parehas,” he said.
