Young Scholar Sells Pastil to Fund Education
A young scholar from Manila has become an inspiration to many students for selling “Pastil” to fund his education.
Recently, Yuan Aaroon Villamil, better known as “Yuan Fixed,” a TikTok user, shared his videos of his initiative called “Pastil for my Tuition.” The post quickly circulates online and elicited reactions from netizens.
Despite once stopping his studies due to financial difficulties, Yuan never gave up on his dreams and is now back in school, balancing education and business. His journey shows how determination and hard work can make a significant difference.
Yuan’s story gained attention on TikTok, where he recently posted an update about his new business location. He had to relocate his pastil stand due to construction but assured his customers that the delicious meal remains priced at just P10.
“We are here sa dati nating pwesto which is Baco corner Dapitan but nag-aaral na tayo and dito sa pwesto natin ay hindi na raw tayo pwede dahil meron ng restaurant na itatayo so meron tayong bagong pwesto—itong street 62 Halcon II corner Dapitan Quezon City, still 10 pesos pa rin ang pastil natin—I hope makita ko kayo kapag bumili kayo,” he said.
His followers have continued to support his efforts, cheering him on as he works toward completing his education.

In 2021, Yuan was forced to drop out of college because of financial struggles. However, instead of giving up, he started selling pastil, a meaningful decision that helped him gradually save money to resume his studies.
Through the support of his community and his affordable pastil, Yuan is now back in school, eagerly chasing his dreams.
Yuan balances both his studies and his business, understanding the value of both education and entrepreneurial skills. He believes that having a solid educational background helps enhance one’s business strategy.
