PAOCC spokesperson Winston Casio confirmed the arrest and provided details about the long-standing investigation that led to the operation. According to Casio, Lyu Dong was a key figure in illegal POGO activities and had been under the radar of law enforcement agencies for some time.

The Lucky South 99 POGO hub has been the subject of various investigations and controversies due to its alleged involvement in illegal online gambling operations and other unlawful activities. POGOs, or Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators, have come under increased scrutiny in recent years due to concerns over illegal practices and their impact on local communities.

In POGO-related news, dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Leal Guo, who has also been linked to illegal POGO activities, announced during a Senate hearing that she would not be running for mayor in the upcoming 2025 elections. This statement contradicted earlier claims made by her lawyer that she intended to run for the position again. When asked by Senator Jinggoy Estrada during the hearing, Guo said her priority was to clear her name of the allegations against her before considering a political comeback.

Both incidents highlight the ongoing crackdown on illegal POGO operations and their wide-reaching implications in the Philippines.
