As Kiko Pangilinan eyes a Senate comeback, his wife Megastar Sharon Cuneta has this message and appeals for the people.
As the filing for the certificates of candidacy has come to a close for the 2025 midterm elections, the tensions are also getting more intense. The polls will be on May 2025 and these are the available positions:
- Senators – 12
- Party-List Representatives – 63
- Member, House of Representatives – 254
- Governor – 82
- Vice Governor – 82
- Provincial board member – 800
- City Mayor – 149
- City Vice Mayor – 149
- City councilor – 1,690
- Municipal Mayor – 1,493
- Municipal Vice Mayor – 1,493
- Municipal councilor – 11,948
- BARMM Members of the Parliament – 25
- BARMM Party Representatives – 40
One of those who are eyeing a comeback in the Senate is Kiko Pangilinan. The term of office for senators is six years and not allowed to serve for more than two consecutive terms. His wife Megastar Sharon Cuneta was with him when he filed for his COC for senator at the Manila Hotel Tent City.
Now that they’re back on it again, the Megastar made an appeal to the public ahead of the 2025 polls.
According to her, there has been a lot of trolling online and many people can easily believe them, and in order to avoid misinformation, she appealed to the public to do their research.
Some can say that her husband did nothing but as the person who has been with him all throughout, this is no truth to this claim. It hurts to hear this and for people to believe this as they know how he works hard. Her husband has done a lot of achievements as a lawmaker.
“Alamin niyo po, alamin niyo po sa inyong pagre-research sa pagtatanong kung sino po ang karapat dapat iboto. Kung sino ‘yung walang kinurakot kahit kailan, walang kinita,” she added.
She firmly called out the people to be smart enough in voting and to consider what the candidate has done before making a choice and most especially, make sure that the information they hold are true and verified.

As for Pangilinan running for senator again, he expressed that this is the original plan for 2022. To recall, in 2022, he ran for vice presidency but lost to Vice President Sara Duterte. Leni Robredo asked him back then to be her running mate. He decided to answer the call and set aside his original plan.
