Sen. Kiko Pangilinan’s Personal Background

Born on August 24, 1963 in Manila, the complete name of the senator is Francis Pancratius Nepomuceno Pangilinan. He is one of the eight children of Donato Tongol Pangilinan Jr., an engineer from Pampanga, and Emma Monasterial Nepomuceno, a teacher from Nueva Ecija.

When he was younger, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan is a sports enthusiast. He was a varsity athlete in track and field and volleyball. He was also a councilor of the University Student Council of the University of the Philippines and he became the chairperson later on.

Pangilinan is a lawyer, politician, farmer, and senator. As a lawyer, he is known as an attorney who gives free legal assistance. He is also a former anchor in ABS-CBN’s Hoy Gising! and as well as a segment host.

Married to actress-singer Sharon Cuneta, their marriage is blessed with two (2) daughters, Frankie and Miel, and an adoptive son named Miguel. He treats KC Concepcion, the first-born of the Megastar from her first marriage with Gabby Concepcion, as his eldest and they visibly have a wonderful father-daughter relationship.

Sen. Kiko Pangilinan’s Political Career

Sen. Pangilinan started his political career as a councilor in Quezon City in 1988. He was the youngest councilor elected in the 4th District of Q.C. In 2001, he ran for his first term in the Senate. After six years, he was re-elected as a senator. He passed several bills that benefit the farmers into laws. In 2014, he was appointed in a cabinet-level position as Presidential Assistant for Food Security and Agricultural Modernization. Recently, he filed his candidacy for vice president in the 2022 Election and he is the running-mate of Vice President Leni Robredo who filed her bid for the presidency.
