Police Arrests Teacher for Exploiting His Students in Exchange for P300
EXPLOITATION – A public school teacher was arrested for allegedly inviting students to his home in exchange for P300.
A 43-year-old public elementary school teacher in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental was arrested for abusing his students. The authorities caught the suspect at his home in Barangay Waterfall after obtaining a search warrant.
During the operation, law enforcement rescued six minors including four boys and two girls from the teacher’s house. They also recovered gadgets containing sensitive videos of the victims with the suspect.
Lieutenant Colonel Mario Baquiran from the PNP-WCPC Mindanao Field Unit shared details of the case. He emphasized how the suspect took advantage of his position as a teacher to manipulate and exploit young students.
“Ginagalaw niya talaga ‘yung mga bata [na] masama man pakinggan lalo na’t naka-public yata tayo pero ‘yun ang ginagawa niya sa mga bata. Nagkakaroon ng sexual activities with these minor victims,” Baquiran said.
The police found that the teacher would invite students to his home, where he would then abuse them. He would pay the children between P300 and P500 after abusing them. This financial incentive may have made some children feel it was okay.
“Inamin mismo ng suspek na bawat galaw niya sa mga bata binabayaran niya ng P300 up to P500 ‘yun ang mga binibigay niya. So siguro ang mga bata nagkakapera rin sila kaya ok lang sa kanila na nangyayari ang ganitong sitwasyon,” he added.
The suspect admitted to his actions when questioned by the authorities. He now faces charges related to online sexual abuse and exploitation of children.
The incident points out the need for increased awareness and protective measures to safeguard children from such predatory behavior.
