Alice Guo PH Passport Canceled By DFA

The Philippine passport of Alice Guo was canceled.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) canceled the fraudulently acquired passport of Alice Guo or Guo Hua Ping.

The Philippine passport of dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo also known as Guo Hua Ping was canceled by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). This was announced on Friday, October 4.

In a press statement, the DFA made the announcement and this decision took effect on September 30, 2024, by virtue of Section 10 (b) (4) of Republic Act No. 11983 or the New Philippine Passport Law, to wit: Section 10. Ground for Denial of Issuance of Passport; Cancellation of Passport; or Imposition of Restrictions on Passports.

As indicated in the law, a passport may be denied, canceled, or suffer restrictions if acquired in a fraudulent way, tampered with, or issued erroneously.

The agency immediately acted on the matter after Alice and Guo Hua Ping’s fingerprints matched based on the receipt of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI’s) certification. Guo Hua Ping is Chinese passport holder.

Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Ma. Teresita Daza said in a statement on Friday that the DFA enforces a “zero tolerance policy for unscrupulous individuals” circumventing the Philippine passport application and issuance procedures.

Previously, the Office of the President also instructed Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla and DFA Secretary Enrique Manalo to take “appropriate action” over the matter which is to cancel her passport after Guo escaped and fled the country for Indonesia where she was arrested.

Meanwhile, based on a previous article, Guo eyes re-election. According to Guo’s legal counsel, Stephen David, she will be filing her certificate of candidacy amid her legal woes, questionable background, and despite being in detention. Guo will seek reelection as Bamban mayor and will file her COC next week.
