Court Approves BJMP Request for Alice Guo Medical Checkup
ALICE GUO – The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) requested for a medical checkup of the former Mayor at the hospital.
Former Mayor Guo is currently detained in Pasig City Jail. She is faced with a non-bailable case filed against her at the Pasig City Court. She shares the cell with six (6) inmates — most of them are faced with drug-related charges.
The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) previously revealed that Guo was shocked by her detention cell. She was formerly detained at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Facility.
Under the custody of the PNP, Guo was detained at the PNP Custodial Room previously occupied by former Senator Leila de Lima. She had her own room with a bed, a set of table and chairs, a ceiling fan, and its own bathroom.
During the transfer of the former Mayor in Pasig City Jail, Alice Guo was isolated after her x-ray result showed a possible lung infection. She stayed with inmates who were being treated for TB.
Guo underwent a sputum test and she tested negative for TB. She was moved to a regular cell after she tested negative for TB.
Based on a report on GMA News, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology requested for a medical checkup of former Mayor Alice Guo at the hospital. Recently, the BJMP spoke on the decision of the Court regarding the request.
According to BJMP spokesman jail superintendent Jayrex Bustanera, they received a court order calling for Guo to have a medical checkup at a hospital. Based on the report, the BJMP made the request over the concerns on the possible lung infection of the former Mayor.
“Just to make sure kasi ito po ‘yung concern during the last Senate hearing na pinarating din ng mga senators natin na baka much better daw po kung pwedeng ipa-checkup siya,” he said.
Based on the report, the BJMP is still coordinating with the hospital for the schedule of Guo’s medical checkup. They will also ask the former Mayor if she wants to undergo a checkup.
“So far, healthy naman siya. Wala namang other health concerns na noted ang BJMP doctor natin,” Bustanera said.
