Tootsie Guevarra Admits She Gets Indecent Proposals Before
TOOTSIE GUEVARRA – Filipina singer Tootsie Guevarra revealed she was a target of DOMs, and indecent proposals before.
Tootsie Guevarra was a well-known singer in the late ‘90s to early 2000s, with hits like “Pasulyap-Sulyap,” “Kaba,” “Mahal Ka Sa Akin,” and many more. Tootsie admitted that she didn’t come from a wealthy family, but she proudly graduated from St. Paul University and became a breadwinner at an early age.
While she made a name for herself as an OPM singer, she was often approached by dirty old men (DOMs) and indecent proposals.
At a young age, Tootsie Guevarra wasn’t shy about being vocal, a trait that often raised eyebrows at the time. She admitted this in an interview with Paco Arespacochaga on YouTube on September 13, 2024.
The 44-year-old celebrity said she was an easy target for such temptations because people assumed she would bite, given that she was a breadwinner.
Tootsie told Paco, “You and I know [in the] entertainment industry, there’s always gonna be a lot of temptations, indecent proposals… hindi mo maiaalis yan.
“And I had to make a tough decision if I would go to that lane or stick to my lane with knowing the consequences of my decision.”
Paco agreed, saying that indecent proposals were rampant back then for singers like Tootsie.
The former band drummer added that Tootsie was very young at the time, and the ones making indecent proposals were 50-year-old married DOMs with adult children. These men would keep the women they lured as “side chicks,” providing them with condos, SUVs, and more.
Tootsie admitted, “So I felt like they saw me as a target. They saw me as an opportunity, thinking, ‘O, eto si Tootsie, she’s gonna say yes.’”
But she was determined not to get involved.
“Alongside of that, I felt like I didn’t fit in and I felt like I was being pressured to fit in,” Tootsie confessed.
Tootsie Guevarra also shared her experience with two top executives who attempted to keep her as a mistress. When she received an indecent proposal from the first executive, Tootsie asked him if he would marry her.
“Ang ano ko, ‘Papakasalan mo ba ako?’ Tinanong ko siya. Ang sagot niya, tumawa,” the singer said.
“Ang sagot sa akin, ‘I don’t effing understand you. No one says no to me!’ Ang sabi.”
Tootsie continued her story, “’Pangalawa, bibigyan kita ng bahay sa Forbes Park, ayaw mo. So, baka gusto mo downtown, doon sa Manila Bay, sa Makati. Ayaw mo din. E, anong gusto mo, yung bahay mo sa Cainta?’”
Tootsie responded, “’Bakit papakasalan mo ba ako? Hihiwalayan mo ba ang asawa mo, at kailangan kasama ang pamilya ko?’”
The executive’s only response was laughter.
Her experience with the second executive was even worse.
Tootsie said, “May isa pa, ‘Hubarin mo nga ang damit mo… gusto ko makita kung gaano kalaki ang suso mo.’ Ganon talaga.”
He said this to Tootsie while her mother was right beside her.
Tootsie thought about how to respond. She didn’t plan to follow the order to undress but knew she would be in a difficult position if she slapped the executive.
She stroked the executive’s arm and sat on his lap.
Tootsie told him, “Kung alam ko lang na papahubarin mo ako sana nag-shave ako. Saka nandiyan ang nanay ko, dapat sinabi mo.”
Paco chimed in, saying that Tootsie simply went along with what the executive did.
Tootsie continued, “I already knew nagalit siya sa akin. Minura ako.”
The singer explained, “Ang dating sa akin, in their eyes, the powerful people, I’m a diva.
“Dahil hindi ako nagpapasundo every Thursday. Nagbibigay ng cash, ibinabalik ko.
“So, ang dating sa kanila, e, ingrata ako or whatever. But I know in my heart it’s not that.”
In the end, Tootsie didn’t want to share a relationship and become “one of the many” for these DOMs.
