Amid his battle against cancer, Doc Willie Ong to run for a national post this upcoming midterm election.

Cancer-stricken cardiologist Doc Willie Ong is running for senator in the 2025 elections despite his battle with abdominal cancer.

Cardiologist and internist Doc Willie Ong bravely disclosed his battle with cancer previously. Doc Willie revealed his sarcoma cancer and in this battle, he faced excruciating pain and “brushes with death”.

He even went under critical condition after suffering from neutropenic sepsis which he shared online. Ever since he shared his battle with cancer, he has made sure to keep his millions of followers updated about his condition. His was a 16-cm sarcoma hiding strategically in an area within his body that cannot be seen easily.

According to him, he suspected that the extreme stress he went through over the negative comments he received contributed to his cancer. To recall, he was Isko Moreno’s running mate in the 2022 elections.

Despite his battle with cancer, the cardiologist decided to run for senator in this upcoming midterm election. He is expected to file his candidacy between October 1 and October 8 based on a report from PEP.

Previously, he shared that his doctors would not agree to this as his physical condition could never allow him. He was actually told regarding his political plan, “Cannot. Hindi ka na makakahabol, you have no more time.”
