Father Shocked to Discover His Son Involved in Accident He Came Across

Father Expresses Frustration Over Son’s Untimely Demise

MARIKINA CITY – A father was shocked upon realizing that his child was involved in the accident he came across.

On September 11, 2024, the 22-year-old Army reservist, John Marc Lomboy lost his life in a tragic motorcycle accident. His father, Mario Lomboy, unknowingly came across the scene, only to realize that his son was the victim.

Earlier that day, Mario left their home in Antipolo City with one of his other children, heading to Quezon City. As they drove through Marikina, they encountered heavy traffic, which Mario suspected was due to an accident.

Approaching the site, he immediately recognized the motorcycle of his son John Marc’s. Mario was shocked seeing his son lying motionless, along with a woman who had been riding with him.

John Marc had not been taken to the hospital despite the presence of an ambulance. According to Mario, the responders lacked a stretcher, delaying his son’s transport. Even though John Marc’s heart was still beating when Mario arrived, he was told that his son was already dead.

This angered Mario, as the ambulance staff had no authority to declare his son dead, and there was no doctor on site.

Father

Making matters worse, a funeral vehicle had already arrived, even though no official death declaration had been made. Mario questioned why his son was not immediately rushed to the hospital and why there was a focus on preparing for his son’s death rather than saving his life.

“Gusto kong mabuhay ‘yung anak ko, bakit ‘di nila itinakbo agad? Nandun na ‘yong mga ambulance. Bakit punerarya ang nakatutok sa anak ko eh humihinga pa naman siya? Hindi ba dapat dalhin muna sa ospital?” he said.

Although Mario insisted on taking John Marc to the hospital, his son was declared dead on arrival. The Marikina police are still investigating the incident while waiting for the recovery of the woman involved to gather more details.

Mario, a retired military officer, had hoped that John Marc would follow in his footsteps, making his sudden loss even harder to accept.
