Bacolod City Lineman Gets Into Accident During Clearing Operation
A lineman from NEPC is currently in a coma at the Intensive Care Unit of Metro Bacolod Hospital following a serious accident.

Recently, Jessie James Torremocha, a 34-year-old from Davao City, was part of a team from Carmel Light Manpower assigned to vegetation clearing in Bacolod City.
The accident took place on September 14, 2024, around 3 p.m. on Circumferential Road in Barangay Villamonte. Torremocha was working to clear trees that had fallen onto power lines, causing power outages in the area.
While he was positioned about 30 meters above ground, he fell when attempting to secure his harness to the next branch. The fall was severe, resulting in Torremocha losing consciousness.

Despite medical efforts, he remains in a coma. His family in Davao has been informed, and his wife is expected to arrive in Bacolod on Monday (September 16, 2024).
The NEPC has requested the community’s prayers and support for Torremocha and his family during this difficult time. They are also asking for prayers for their other linemen who risk their lives in challenging conditions to restore power and ensure public safety.
In response to the incident, NEPC has pledged to provide all necessary assistance to Torremocha’s family. The company is committed to supporting its team members and their families, emphasizing the importance of safety and care in their operations.
